Is Summer Solitude a thing?

Is Summer Solitude a thing?

If it isn't, it should be. Maybe not ALL summer, but definitely for portions. Summer, for me, tends to be a super busy season - lots of gatherings, travel, socializing - and before I know it Summer is over and I haven't gotten to do any of the hikes or paddle boarding or book reading I wanted to. Luckily, the busy part of summer started early for me, and after this weekend I can institute a "Summer Solitude" policy of "you can come visit us at home but we will be working on projects so come ready to help!" (There will definitely be breaks for hikes, paddle boarding (when it's not too windy) and family visits.)

The big trip of this summer was down to Tahoe for a Chandler Family Reunion. In my lifetime, this was our very first official reunion, and held in our favorite place full of family history. We got to go to Fallen Leaf Lake; noticed that the new owners of the family cabin are taking good care of it and making improvements; drove around the lake on a pontoon boat; go for some favorite hikes; play with my nephew; and generally enjoy each others' company.

Right now, I have my favorite kind of solitude for the next two days. I am dog-sitting in a lovely home and aside from going for some adventures in the morning and evening, we will be relaxing, reading books, and eating good food. We will definitely be hunkering down for the 4th of July celebrations! Especially in fire-country, this holiday stresses me out to no end.

In the jewelry realm, I finally finished my first collection of the year! The majority of these and some necklaces have been delivered to Chemistry Jewelry and can be purchased in person there. I've already started laying out stones for the next collection, and have a much better "schedule" for studio time now. I do have a few pieces that will land on my website soon, but have to figure out the whole "photography" set up of the studio for that. Soon!

Thank you for following along!
